You may not drive anything that runs on diesel fuel, but Janesville 's Todd Foelske Does every day.

That's not good news when diesel fuel is about to hit the new landmark price of four dollars a gallon and they only get about sex or seven miles to the gallon.

And when you line up bus after bus, just filling up makes the district's dollars add up fast.

The headlines only give a few answers as to why, but Wartburg economics professor Doctor Scott Fullwiler says demand is up, the dollar is down, and high food costs are feeding the pain at the pump.

Big or small, diesel runs them all, and Waverly Shell Rock bus mechanic Mike Hillman works on these buses for a living.

He says there's really no way for these things to guzzle less gas.
